Even in the third weekend of the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship, Isotta Fraschini made progress, racing on the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit. In front of a record crowd for the championship (88,180 spectators, never so many in a race other than the 24 Hours of Le Mans), the Tipo 6 LMH Competizione showed itself to be fast and getting progressively closer and closer to its rivals, thanks to the great work carried out by the technicians of the manufacturer from Milan in the just two-week break between the Imola race and this one in Belgium.

Allowing the two youngest drivers of the team to learn the Ardennes track, team Duqueine focused on developing the set-up for the race rather than pure speed for the Qualifying session. The Tipo 6 was very efficient during the 6 Hours, especially in the second sector of the circuit, and battled on equal terms with all its nearby rivals, thanks to its appreciated aerodynamic qualities. The car finished the race in 14th position only three laps behind the winners; a clear improvement compared to the 16th place in Imola, many more laps behind.

In mid-June, it will be time for the most famous and engaging race of the entire season, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which will end the European phase of the championship. For Isotta Fraschini, it will be a fantastic new opportunity to gain experience and learn more about its car to continue developing it. It will practically be like doing four consecutive races, compared to the three events held so far, and, therefore, the dream will be more than ever to reach the checkered flag to demonstrate the quality of the product.

Claudio Berro, Isotta Fraschini Motorsport Director: «Third round of the 2024 FIA WEC season and yet another improvement for the Tipo 6 LMH Competizione, after Qatar and Imola. On a challenging and long track, the Isotta Fraschini Duqueine team and its drivers took a further step forward. Michelotto Engineering did a huge work of developing and fine-tuning the electronic systems between races and the car improved during each session and performed flawlessly. In the final part of the race, when the battle for the top places was at its maximum expression, Jean-Karl Vernay demonstrated that the car’s race pace wasn’t far from the top, especially in the second sector of the Spa-Francorchamp circuit. There are still developments to make to have the ambition of competing with the best group, but we hope this will happen in the most important race of the year, the 24 Hours of Le Mans»..
