World premiere for the Isotta Fraschini LMH Tipo 6 Competizione
The Hypercar was presented in the historic headquarters of the Milan Automobile Club, where in 1904 Isotta Fraschini obtained its first car manufacturer license. On the occasion, the industrial and sports plans were also announced.
The Isotta Fraschini Tipo 6 LMH Competizione was unveiled, perfectly respecting the plans presented last October. It is a car designed to compete in endurance races. In this regard, Claudio Berro, director of Isotta Fraschini’s Motorsport clarified. «Today, we are exactly where we predicted 4 months ago when we announced that Isotta Fraschini would be back and that it would do so, according to tradition, with a racing car. The Tipo 6 LMH Competizione is now in its complete and real configuration and the intentions for the 2023 season remain those of competing in the 2023 WEC championship with the “race by race” formula, as soon as the car is homologated by the FIA. In the meantime, we will be grinding kilometers together with the team Vector Sport to be ready as soon as possible.”
The Isotta Fraschini all-wheel drive Hypercar condenses the pinnacle of excellence. This car will also be built in the Pista variant, for customers who will be able to enjoy it in events designed exclusively for them, and in the Strada variant, which can be registered as a “one-of-a-kind copy that can be repeated” in countries that allow this type of homologation. The first car has already completed its first 4WD bench test and will soon begin those on the track.
During the presentation, Isotta Fraschini Milano’s president Alessandro Fassina announced an industrial plan with an investment of 100 million euros, almost a third of which has already been allocated. He also clarified that the annual production of Type 6 cars will be in the order of 50 units in 5 years, while a new two-seater hypercar will arrive in 2026 which in the following years will settle on 30/40 units per year.
